Discover the Amazing Print Features Built into our Simple PDF Printing Service (So Far..)

Written by Matt on Tuesday 10th May 2022

Introduction

The mad scientists of printing here at printMe1.com have been busy creating some very unique features that extend our simple PDF printing service.

These features are integrated into the basic service to enable mass PDF printing, batch PDF printing, and unique PDF Hosting options for online education & distribution.

We've even created an awesome affiliate program for those who write and create PDF's to earn commission by adding our affiliate referral link to their site.

And we've done this all without complicating the simple print service everyone uses.

Some would say you have to be mad to be in the print business today, the crazy kind of mad :), but scientific research so far says otherwise. Using print improves comprehension and people prefer using print when deep reading is required.

Maybe the mad scientists here are onto something? Indeed we think so.

With so much new stuff, we thought it was about time to at least gather all of the new features printMe1.com offers (so far…) and list them in one place. When we make another new feature, and we surely will, we'll add it to the list.

We're sure everyone who prints PDFs will find something new to them in the list below.

Let's get started!

#1: Order a Print of your PDF.

Have a PDF and want a simple bound print for yourself? - Start Here

When we say simple print, we mean it!  Have a PDF and just want a double-sided print with a binding so you can read it like a book? This is the main feature that has drawn users to our PDF printing service since we started in 2009! (We added a single-sided option recently too.)

Just click the green "Start Here" button and upload your PDF or PDF's, make a couple of choices on how you want it printed, then pop in your address and checkout.

How simple is it? Our site provides the perfect amount of options to get your PDF in print. Nothing tricky or complicated whatsoever. You'll get a double-sided, bound print of each PDF to read like a book shipped to your mailbox in about a week or two. We make it easy to do!

The 7 easy steps to use our PDF printing service for a simple print:

-go to printMe1.com

-Upload your PDF (or Set of PDF's if you have more than one)

-Choose your printing method for each PDF (All printing is double-sided, unless otherwise indicated):  All BW (default), All Color, or 1st Page only in Color w/BW.  Plus BW- Single sided.

-Choose your binding type for each PDF. Binding options are here. A free GBC Comb bind is included.

-Input your billing address

-Input your shipping address (if different than the billing address. US or Canadian addresses only.) Standard US Shipping is included for free.

-Pay and checkout. Simple!

But there is a tweak hiding in plain sight- you can ship the order to someone else in checkout. Used by many publishers, educational organizations, attorneys, real estate appraisers, and drop shippers who use our site to print and ship to others so they don't have to.

Best for: Anyone who needs a PDF printed and bound like a book then mailed to them!  Or anyone who needs to send a print to someone else! Personal users, students, instructors, attorneys, real estate appraisers, organizations, and publishers.

#2- Ship prints of your PDF to yourself, and others in the same transaction.

Once the Mad Scientists of printing got the main concept of the site working, we asked, "what if someone uploaded their PDF into checkout, and wants to ship a copy to someone else…or ship a few copies to other addresses in the same transaction?"

That's where we got the "Add additional address" feature. Clicking this button in shipping, anyone can pop in more addresses into their simple print order to send a print to more people. Each address is getting the same PDF or set of PDF's with the same printing specs.

When you advance to payment, the site automatically calculates the cost for the additional prints and shipments to other addresses, so it's all done in one transaction. There's no need to change your quantities as the site will add up the prints going to each additional address automatically. There's no additional charge to use this feature, and the free US shipping included for bound materials in our simple print service extends to all additional US addresses.

This feature works great for PDF Creators who want to ship the same PDF to a small list of people, or to anyone who is in charge of a small group.

Just click the "Add additional addresses", type in the names and addresses in shipping, and bingo, each address gets a print or set of prints.  It's really popular with small courses and seminars, and also popular with personal users sending extra sets of bound prints to friends and family.

Best for: PDF creators, authors, writers, publishers, educational programs with registration paid for in advance. Anyone who wants a quick and easy way to send out some extra prints to friends, family, and coworkers.

#3- For organizations that ship PDF prints frequently to their clients: Use a printMe1.com account balance to allow members of your team to place orders.

With everything we've built so far, we asked ourselves how could someone in a company use the simple PDF printing service for a lot of transactions involving other members of their organization?  Wouldn't it be great if an organization could create an account and pay upfront so they could delegate the ordering of printing to an employee without giving out their credit card information?

Yes, we realized that if you have a credit card or purchasing card, you might not always want to give that information to your delegated staff or employees, and if you use PDF printing regularly, you will be generating a lot of smaller transactions.

So we created the feature to pay in advance and then place orders that are paid for from an account balance.

Anyone with your printMe1 username and password can prepay for printing, and then order printing from your balance, instead of requiring a credit card for each transaction.   When you put money into your balance, we call this a "Topup", as in, top up your account balance.

The Topup balance appears as a payment option during checkout when you are logged in.

By using a Topup prepaid balance, a group leader can delegate printing by providing their printMe1.com log-in information to their team members, instead of giving out their credit card information.

Best for: organizations with multiple staffers, agents or employees who are responsible for ordering printing.

#4- For PDF eBook creators that offer PDF downloads for content they own.

Provide a convenient print option to your users, and earn commission from printing- without any complicated changes to your site or selling process

This one is for our PDF eBook creator friends who want to provide a print option with their own platform's services without complicating their process.

We created an affiliate program for PDF ebook creators that pays commission when any of their users click a link from their site to ours to order a print from us. This is neat option for PDF creators who have process to either sell or give away their content as PDFs, but not for printing them.

Selling a traditional print option along with a digital product can often complicate the buyer's decision process. When offered for sale, digital PDF ebooks are usually sold with a price unrelated to a page count, but when you try to sell a print version beside a digital version, the side by side comparisons can get confusing.  PDF page counts will influence the cost to offer the print option, adding unwanted price points to the purchasing decision.  printMe1.com's Affiliate Program fixes this seamlessly, and works great with any site offering a PDF download.

Like everything else we've done, it's as simple as possible. Our solution has virtually no impact with your site's current process.

Just contact us to sign up for an affiliate account, and then add a referral ID to your site link back to us. We gently track the visitors coming to our site with your referral ID, and tally up their purchases and pay out from that. All you need do is include a link to printMe1.com on your site that includes your affiliate referral ID. Place the link somewhere convenient for your users to find and click to go to our site.

No complicated code changes necessary, and our process operates in the background without interfering with your current distribution method.

Like we said, simple!

Best for: PDF eBook Creators who distribute PDF's either for sale or for free.

#5- For teaching: Use our PDF Hosting service so others can order a print from the hosted link.

One day in 2018, we noticed we were getting orders of the same PDF from many people at the same time. Each person was uploading the same PDF to the site and paying for it individually. They were all in the same class using material the instructor had created, so the instructor was directing the students to the site's basic service.

That's when the mad scientists of printing here had a eureka moment.

We created a PDF printing feature where the lead instructor or PDF Creator can upload the PDF in advance, and then share the link to the group. The hosted link to the PDF takes the user to a landing page that takes them into the Simple Print Service checkout using the hosted file, instead of requiring an upload.

The hosted link can be shared electronically any way you like- course website, email, social media. Some PDF Creators of Open Educational Resources use their PDF Hosting link to post as the print option for their title in OER repositories like OER Commons. Post the PDF Hosting link anywhere you want to make it the easiest for your users to find!

Best for: PDF Creators who want to share an easy print option to their group, or post as their PDF's print option in an OER repository, Libguide, or catalog. Also instructors using material they created themselves, or OER, or works in the public domain, in a class they are teaching and want to provide a print option for the students to use if they need a print.

#6- Distributing restricted content: Use our PDF Hosting service for others to order a print, and restrict orders to recipients you allow.

Sometimes you have a PDF you want to make available for others to buy like in #5 above, but want to limit access to the print to specific people.

We built an Approval feature into PDF Hosting where the PDF Hoster can turn on the ability to hold all print orders of their hosted PDF until they approve each one.

As the orders come in, they are held in a queue until reviewed and approved by the PDF Hoster.

Once approved, the user's credit card is charged. The PDF Hoster can reject the order if they want.

Best for: Programs that provide materials for their registrants electronically, and want to restrict access to the print to only users who are registered for their program.

Example is a remote training program that provides users with a PDF containing valuable content needed for the course, and wants to offer a print option for registrants who don't have access to printing equipment. When a registrant chooses to place an order for a print, the PDF Hoster is notified and can review the order in their printMe1.com account, then approve or reject it.

#7- For all-inclusive teaching programs: Allow others to order prints of your hosted PDF for free on your account. Use with the approval feature. Great for corporate training situations where a print is needed.

Of all the crazy things we've made, this might sound like the craziest, but what else would you expect? This is the kitchen sink version of PDF Hosting.

For this one, we took the PDF Hosting with the Simple Print Service, and mashed them together with the Approval and Topup features.

We found that there are users out there who have PDF's they post for programs they expect to be used in a bound print format, where the recipients are working remotely and might not have access to get things printed, or not expected to pay for it themselves.

For example, situations where printing is done by employees for materials they need for a training program, or even PDF creators who want to offer a paid-for print to a client. In these kinds of situations, offloading a huge PDF to the end user can be a cost burden for them to print, so the Hoster wants to pay.

For this, we took the basic PDF Hosting, and connected it to the Topup and Approval features. The PDF Hoster funds their printing account, and posts the link to the PDF. Anyone with the link can order your print and have it shipped to them. If the Topup account runs out, orders can still be placed, but will not be processed until funds are added.

Additionally, the Approval feature can be activated so each PDF print is reviewed before charged against the Hoster's Topup account balance.

The added bonus to this is the PDF Hoster can use the two optional features (Topup and Approval) in combination together to delegate workflow to staff who approve PDFs, and staff who are financially responsible for topping up.

Best for:  Providers of training programs or programs that want to include an option for printed materials to registrants who might need it, and want the registrants to input their own address.

Also PDF Creators who want to supply a print based on a list of registrants or confirmed orders to their own website.

Mail a print of a PDF to Many Addresses

#8-  You have a PDF or a set of PDFs, that you want to send to a lot of recipients where everyone receives the same thing, and you have the addresses in a CSV file.

What if you have a PDF or set of PDF you are paying to print for others and have too many recipients with unique addresses to manually type in?  The Mad Scientists of printing figured this one out too!  If you have your recipients in a .CSV file, you can upload the .CSV instead of manually typing in each address. Just upload the PDF or set of PDFs once, then upload the .CSV of addresses, and the site will calculate the price for printing and shipping for each recipient to receive an order shipped to their address. This is performed in one financial transaction.

Best for: Groups, schools, programs, businesses, organizations, institutions. Any user with multiple recipients that needs to provide the same PDF to many people and wants to do it in one financial transaction.

Batch print specific PDF's printed to Specific Addresses

#9- You have a set of PDFs that go to specific addresses, where each address receives a PDF or set of PDFs specific to them.

This one was hard to do, but we did it! You have a group like a class, and each person needs to receive a specific PDF.  We'll use the .CSV again for this. First, include a column for all of the filenames for each recipient in the .CSV. Then, just list upload all the PDF's at once at the "Start Here" button. When you get to shipping, upload the .CSV. Then behold!  The PDF for each recipient is listed on your checkout detail. Checkout in one transaction.

Best for: Groups, schools, programs, businesses organizations, institutions. Any type of program with multiple users where each user needs to receive a print of a specific PDF.

API Use Case

#10-  You have PDFs on your site and want to programmatically place print orders and make payment automatically to our site.

Yes, we saved the best for last. This one goes to 11!

Everything related to ordering a print is accessible from our API interface. If you supply prints of PDF's to your users, you can connect our site to yours. Automate your organization's printing using printMe1.com.

This is an advanced feature designed for organizations that create and publish their own PDF's and have the technical ability to implement it in their website. While there is no additional charge for using the CSV feature, there is a small set up and monthly maintenance fee for connecting your site into ours. Contact us here.

Conclusion

Need a simple print of your PDF, check out printMe1.com.

Our user friendly website is the easiest way to get a PDF printed, bound and shipped to your US or Canadian mailbox. Ship a print to yourself, or to others by manually adding additional addresses.

Additionally, we've integrated some amazing features into the service without complicating anything.

For PDF creators, we have an Affiliate program designed especially for PDF creators who sell digital PDFs or give them away for free, and want to provide a print option for their users.

We built a free PDF Hosting service that allows a user, aka "The PDF Hoster", to store a PDF on our server and provide a link to a unique landing page for the PDF.  PDF Hosting streamlines PDF distribution and printing in situations where the end user can optionally decide to place a print order for themselves, from the PDF Hosting link. The Hosting link can be shared to  allow others to use it to place an order for a print without requiring them to upload the PDF themselves, or download the PDF for free.

The PDF Hosting feature also has unique variations where the print payment can be paid for by the recipient, or paid from the PDF Hoster's account. This uses a Topup function that is also useful in team settings where multiple people will place orders for prints to others.

Integrated into the simple service is the ability to add more recipients in shipping via a CSV file. Mass mail PDF prints in a simple, single transaction. Our CSV capability also accepts additional print instructions so you can control the prints to specific people, creating a unique print job for each recipient if desired, all in a single transaction.

Our site has an API available to organizations that create PDF content and want to automate their print distribution, and have the technical ability to implement it. Use the contact link below to get in touch for a free consultation.

For an easy to use, simple print resource, check out printMe1.com!
